VBX Notes

Manfred Jainz' notes about VBX103c:

Some user responses prodded me to improve some functions in VBX, so I
try to satisfy this by distributing the latest version VBX103C before
going to vacation. The improvements are:

    - Optimized the output to the screen for the directory
      function. Tested on PS/2 (386) notebook. Moving for
      select and scrolling in the directory menu is now
      substantially faster on older PC's with slow graphic cards.

    - two new commands in the directory function:
    - N: enter Next file
    - L: Library(=Dir) wildcard select

    - modified the Save as... command so that when you
      give a filename with extension .EML (for E-mail),
      the output file contains all extended ASCII graphics
      translated to 7-bit ASCII codes "|-=+^v><".

    - help now reachable in edit mode

    - string replacement now available in not-edit modes

    - cleanup of "spaghetti" coding in several places.
